Donohue’s Al Callier, PE was a recipient of the “Golden Fleece” award from the Missouri Water Environment Association (MWEA) during their recent annual meeting. This award was established in 2003, and is named in honor of its two initial awardees, Bob Flick and John Reece. In Greek mythology, the Golden Fleece was considered the ultimate treasure. For the MWEA, this award is considered the ultimate honor.
The Illinois Wastewater Professional Conference (IWPC) is the joint annual conference hosted by the Illinois Water Environment Association and the Illinois Association of Water Pollution Control Operators. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) announced nine Excellence in Construction Awards during its recent Contractor-Engineer Conference in Madison. Two of the winners included a concrete paving project in the Village of Sister Bay and a multi-use trail in the City of Sheboygan – both projects involved engineering, planning, and design work by Donohue & Associates. Vinton Construction Company of Manitowoc received the Excellence in Concrete Paving Award for the reconstruction of a three-quarter-mile segment of State Trunk Highway 42 in Sister Bay. Lunda Construction Company of Black River Falls received the Excellence in Construction of Unique Projects Award for a new 2.6-mile bike and pedestrian path in Sheboygan.
Kenosha’s Energy Optimized Resource Recovery Project received this year’s top Engineering Excellence award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Wisconsin. The Grand Award was presented to Donohue & Associates, Kenosha Water Utility, and Centrisys Corporation at ACEC’s annual banquet in Kohler, Wisconsin. This prestigious award recognizes a project representing the highest degree of technical innovation, client satisfaction, and contributions to the engineering industry. The Kenosha project was selected out of six Best of State finalists in the competition.
